I handle scheduling and logistics for any events that want to take place in our building. I also handle audio/visual display technology support for events in the University Center, as well as events across campus. My favorite thing about the UC is the feeling of home that I get. I love it. I've been here so long, when I walk in at the beginning of the morning I get that feeling of walking into home. Probably working with the plethora of clients and having the variety of clients, being able to work with anyone from a student to professional meeting planners.

Current Position

Responsibilities: 

Shannon Brilz has been a dedicated member of the University Center team at the University of Montana since 2002 after recieving her BS in Business. Over the years, she has held key roles in accounting, event coordination, and serves as Director of Conference and Event Services. Her work centers on creating memorable and productive experiences for guests and groups utilizing the University Center’s conference facilities and broader University Services and Venues.

Shannon is passionate about supporting student groups as they navigate event planning and programming outside the classroom. She brings a strong focus on risk management and contributes to campus safety through her service on the Campus Preparedness Readiness Group.

Beyond campus, Shannon is deeply involved in regional tourism. She currently serves as Second Chair of the Western Montana Glacier Country Tourism Board and has been an active advocate for tourism in Missoula and Western Montana for many years.

Favorite Thing About the UC: Working in an active and energetic building where guests feel safe and comfortable.
